Worcester Police encouraging drivers to Click It Or Ticket

From now until May 31st the Worcester Police will participate in the annual Click It Or Ticket enforcement. The program emphasizes the use of seat belts in automobiles. Worcester Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Elise Miranda on the enforcement, “Seat belt enforcement is actually a secondary offense. However, any child 12 and under that doesn’t have their seatbelt on, that’s a primary enforcement. So if they do notice any children that aren’t wearing their seatbelt, you will be pulled over.”

Sgt. Miranda and the Worcester Police want to get word of the program out to remind drivers and passengers of the importance of seat belts, “Seat belts are obviously very important. Fortunately, the National Highway Safety Administration has come out with some of their statistics that at least 91% of people in 2024 have been complying with wearing their seat belts, so that’s good.
