Woman pleads no contest in stabbing of Louisiana assistant police chief

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A woman accused of stabbing an assistant police chief in Louisiana pleaded no contest to a charge of simple battery Wednesday at the 20th Judicial District Court.

Tameka Rachelle Armstead, of Slaughter, was arrested after Tyrone “TK” Kilbourne Jr. was stabbed on Friday, Jan. 23.

Armstead was arraigned on March 10, and her motions and trial dates were set for Wednesday, May 12, according to the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Armstead was charged with domestic battery on Feb. 23, but the charge was amended to simple battery on Wednesday after the victim dropped the charge…
