Cedar Rapids occupational therapist pleads guilty to tampering with patients’ pain medication

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A Cedar Rapids man pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing pain medication from vulnerable patients, including replacing a hospice patient’s hydrocodone with zinc tablets.

34-year-old Eric Newsom pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of tampering and attempting to tamper with a consumer product.
