WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office seized more than 3 pounds of crystal methamphetamine during a traffic stop earlier this month.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, deputies spotted a vehicle speeding on U.S. Highway 160. During the traffic stop, deputies said they saw two large bags being thrown from the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office said deputies discovered around 3.6 pounds of crystal meth in the bags, along with about 1 gram of marijuana. The deputies also found items they said are consistent with drug distribution.
The agency has deputies assigned to the Wichita Property and Crimes Task Force, and through that partnership, it said it learned the driver of the vehicle may be connected to drug activity.
