WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is mild Thursday morning across Kansas, and temperatures will trend higher later today. After climbing into the lower to middle 80s on Wednesday, we will warm into the lower to middle 90s this afternoon, and a few record highs are possible.
Southerly winds, higher humidity, and (record/near record) heat continue Friday and will stick around through the weekend. Highs in the lower to middle 90s may feel a degree or two higher when you factor in the humidity, especially tomorrow and Saturday.
While a storm or two is possible this afternoon, and Friday afternoon/evening, the main event will take place this weekend and/or early next week. The better chances on Saturday will be across north and west Kansas, and by Monday the best chances will be in the Wichita area. Any storm over the next few days could be severe with very large hail, intense wind gusts, and heavy rainfall, all possible…
