An Ocala radiologist has been ordered to pay nearly $15,000 in fines and investigative costs following allegations that he failed to identify a mass and signs of diffuse brain swelling on a patient’s CT scan.
Dr. John Socrates Scales, a physician with Radiology Associates of Ocala, was ordered by the Florida Board of Medicine on Wednesday, May 6, to pay a $5,000 fine and reimbursement of investigative and prosecution costs totaling $9,015.31, after agreeing to a settlement.
