SDSU breaks ground on first affordable housing project in Mission Valley

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego State University has made progress in its decade-long vision to expand its footprint in Mission Valley with the groundbreaking of what will eventually become an affordable housing development.

On Wednesday, SDSU and Chelsea Investment Corporation (CIC) celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of Addison, a 126-unit development on what was once a parking lot located east of Snapdragon Stadium.

The Addison project is part of SDSU Mission Valley, an 80-acre development of parks, open space, research and innovative facilities, retail developments and a hotel.
