MILLBURY — Millbury police arrested a Worcester man after they said he targeted an elderly resident in a “flim flam” scam.
Police said an elderly man contacted officers after giving a ride to a person who claimed he needed gas money. During the encounter, police said, the suspect repeatedly directed the victim from one gas station to another before having him drive to a nearby restaurant.
At the restaurant, the suspect asked the victim for change and used a distraction technique commonly known as a “flim flam” scam, taking the victim’s money without his knowledge, police said…
