Texas Lottery Commission, former director indicted in Travis County over $95 million jackpot win

AUSTIN (Nexstar) — A Travis County grand jury reindicted Gary Grief, the former executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission, and indicted the Texas Lottery Commission on Wednesday.

The indictment against Grief alleges he knowingly abused his position as the head of the Texas lottery related to a Lotto Texas drawing on April 22, 2023, which resulted in a single entity winning a $95 million jackpot. He is charged with a felony count of abuse of official capacity.
