FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An Australian permanent resident was sentenced Monday to nearly 28 years in federal prison for child exploitation offenses following an undercover sting operation in Arkansas.
Gabriel Perkhofer, 48, received a sentence of 27 ¾ years without the possibility of parole, followed by lifetime supervised release, after pleading guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and possessing a device containing it. He was also ordered to pay $147,500 in restitution.
Prosecutors say Perkhofer communicated online with an undercover officer posing as the mother of two minor daughters, described sexual acts he wanted to perform with the children, and sent two files of CSAM to the officer. He then traveled from Missouri to Arkansas to meet the woman and was arrested upon arrival.
