Venezuelan Man Sentenced For ATM Jackpotting Scheme – Stole Over $20,000 From First National Bank of Dryden ATM

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York says a Venezuelan national has been sentenced for his role in a multi-state ATM theft scheme that stole more than $300,000 from banks in New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that 25-year-old David Jose Gomez Cegarra, a Venezuelan citizen, was convicted of bank larceny, including the theft involving the First National Bank of Dryden.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gomez Cegarra was sentenced to time served and ordered to pay $294,820 in restitution. Following sentencing, he was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)…
