Police: Man shot, killed woman in front of her 7-month-old before turning gun on himself

STONECREST, Ga. (WKRC) — A man is facing a murder charge after he allegedly shot and killed his long-term on-again-off-again girlfriend in a grocery store parking lot earlier in May.

The DeKalb County Police Department says it was called to a Publix in Stonecrest, Georgia, the evening of May 6 for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found both 25-year-old Shyla Cummings and 23-year-old Isaiah Tarver suffering gunshot wounds, reports WXIA.

Police say Tarver shot Cummings, who was in her car with her 7-month-old daughter, before shooting himself. Cummings died at the scene. Tarver survived and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. The baby was not injured…
