TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A pile of spent lime stored in East Toledo is being moved, according to the city.
Spent lime is a byproduct of the water filtration process. Lime is used in the filtering process of lake water as it becomes clean drinking water.
The material is removed from the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant and some is stored at a lot on Consaul Street near Front Street by the railroad tracks. It was previously being stored in a mining operation on Angola Road, a project that has been stopped…
