ROCKFORD — A historic hotel built in the 1920s to house traveling vaudevillian actors has been renovated to provide affordable living to residents in need of housing.
The former Lafayette Hotel, 411 Mulberry St., is now home to 54 residential units as The Lafayette Apartments. The apartments, which include three artist live/work spaces on the ground floor, are dedicated to affordable housing for people who earn 60% or less than the area’s median income.
