Boca Raton approves conversion of Holiday Inn into 125 apartments near Tri-Rail

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — An aging Holiday Inn near I-95 will be transformed into mixed-use apartments and retail space after the Boca Raton City Council approved the redevelopment in a 4-1 vote Tuesday.

The project had previously received unanimous support from the city’s Planning and Zoning Board before moving to the council for final approval.

The 5.02-acre site at 701 NW 53rd St. will be redeveloped under the city’s commercial-industrial multifamily rules, allowing the existing 183-room hotel building to be converted into a residential complex with 125 units, including 13 affordable apartments and seven workforce units, according to previous reports…
