‘A public servant’: Cherokee’s Max Stancil remembered

A lifelong Cherokee County resident has died, leaving a lasting legacy of public service to his community.

Roy Max Stancil, better known as Max Stancil, died May 9 at Northside Hospital Cherokee from natural causes. He was 95.
