Community mourns death of longtime Leon County educator, secondary principal at FAMU DRS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The local community is mourning the death of a longtime Leon County educator, Dr. Pink Hightowers.

Florida A&M University Development Research School (FAMU DRS) said in a Facebook post Thursday that Hightowers was a “dedicated educator, transformational leader, mentor and unwavering advocate for students.”

He served as the secondary principal of FAMU DRS, was principal of Rickards High School and held many other positions in Leon County. FAMU President Marva Johnson also shared a statement saying the university extends its deepest condolences to FAMU DRS, Hightower’s family and loved ones…
