New England forecasters issue ‘beach hazards’ warning ahead of warm weekend

New England forecasters have issued a “Beach Hazards” statement ahead of the weekend, warning residents not to underestimate the dangers of cold water temperatures despite how warm the air may feel.

The statement is in effect from Saturday morning through the evening, according to the National Weather Service. It applies to New England beaches, including those in Maine and New Hampshire — especially along coastal Rockingham County in New Hampshire and southern to mid-coast regions of Maine.
