DES MOINES, Iowa — Recent apartment fires have left over 100 residents displaced across the Des Moines metro.
Sprinkler systems have been a big point of discussion as to what could be the difference between minor damage to a single apartment and leaving an entire apartment complex a complete loss.
The image above was taken from the apartment fire in the 2100 block of E. Caulder Ave. on May 4 that left around 75 people displaced and most likely a complete loss. A key piece, this apartment did not have a sprinkler system.
