ANKENY, Iowa — An Ankeny man has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison after he kidnapped and assaulted the mother of his children in late December.
Xavier Leonard Senquiz-Ramos, 32, reportedly assaulted the victim over the course of four hours on December 28. Court documents state Senquiz-Ramos held a gun and a knife to the victim’s face and neck and strangled her in their shared Ankeny home. This abuse occurred in front of children shared by the victim and Ramos, according to the Polk County Attorney’s Office.
The victim was eventually able to flee the home with two of their children. Records state Senquiz-Ramos was arrested at the home shortly after the incident occurred.
