Kearney man sentenced after injecting meth, shooting at law enforcement during standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kearney man will spend 14 years in prison after prosecutors say he fired at law enforcement from inside his home during a standoff.

Clay County prosecutors said Scott Blau was sentenced for assault in the 2nd degree, assault in the 4th degree, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting/interfering with an arrest.

Authorities say the incident started when officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving an armed suspect. Officials set up a perimeter and called in the Clay County Sheriff’s Office STAR Team.

A witness at the scene told law enforcement the man had been awake for 36 hours…
