LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A shooting at a west Las Vegas park during a dance competition left three people injured, including a 14-year-old boy, according to a police incident report obtained by News 3.
The gunfire broke out just before 8 p.m. on May 2 at Doolittle Park, where roughly 150 people gathered near the basketball courts for a youth dance competition. According to the report, a ShotSpotter system detected 17 rounds fired in the parking lot as witnesses called 911, reporting “people shooting at the basketball courts and multiple people on the ground.”
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responding to the scene found shell casings scattered across the area and three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said a 54-year-old woman was grazed in the hip, while a 32-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were both shot in the leg…
