SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A pet pig at a Spokane Valley salon has become part of a haircut routine that helps kids with anxiety and sensory needs stay calmer in the chair.
At Prana Salon, owner Brooke Wells said she started offering sensory haircuts in 2019. She said many of her young clients were between ages three and nine and some struggled with anxiety and sensory issues during appointments, including 3-and-1/2-year-old Jackson Carlile. His mom, Megan recalled one of Jackson’s first haircuts at a different establishment.
