Weekend Forecast: Warm temperatures and growing rain chances

ORLANDO, Fla. – Here in Central Florida, the weekend is off to a warm and mostly dry start. Water vapor imagery early Saturday showed plenty of dry air moving across the peninsula, which is expected to keep rain chances low through the morning and early afternoon.

Temperatures are set to climb, with highs likely in the upper 80s and lower 90s areawide.

Showers and storms possible by Saturday evening

As the day heats up, News 6’s Pinpoint Weather team expects a shift later in the evening. The colliding sea breezes across Central Florida are forecast to bring a few showers and thunderstorms, particularly after 6 p.m. Rain chances look to rise to about 30 percent through the evening. While most areas will stay dry during the morning and much of the afternoon, anyone heading out in the evening should have an umbrella handy just in case.
