Family frustrated over repeated vandalism at Bonaventure

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Families with loved ones buried at Bonaventure Cemetery said repeated vandalism and theft at the historic site left them frustrated and paying out of pocket for repairs.

A family with relatives buried at Bonaventure said they dealt with ongoing issues over the years, including missing flowers, stolen flags and damaged grave decorations.

Suzanne Stokes Edwards, a concerned family member, said items placed at her family’s gravesite were repeatedly taken or disturbed, including a marble lamb on her brother’s grave that she said had its ear broken off. She said she returned to find decorations gone just days after placing them…
