Experience the ‘Story of Us’ at Iowa’s CelebrAsian festival

DES MOINES, Iowa — May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander month, and Iowa is gearing up for CelebrAsian. Hosted by the Iowa Asian Alliance.

WHO 13’s Samantha Mesa spoke with the Thai association of Iowa as they prepare for the festival. This year’s theme is the “Story of us.” One community, many stories.

Experience Iowa’s largest Asian American event and celebrate culture, community, and connection through food, performances, traditions, and experiences from across Asia, right here in Des Moines.

There will be interactive activities, and this year they’re encouraging guests to dress in traditional Thai attire and walk the festival. The festival runs from May 22nd to 23rd from 11 a.m. -10 p.m. at Western Gateway Park.
