Two injured after driver runs red light, causes T-bone crash in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Two people are injured after a car ran a red light, leading to a T-bone crash in Taylorsville on Saturday afternoon.

According to Taylorsville Police Department, a Dodge Challenger ran a red light while traveling eastbound on 5400 South in Taylorsville just after 3 p.m. The driver reportedly hit another vehicle that was turning south onto Bangerter Highway near 3800 West.

The Challenger collided with the other vehicle’s rear passenger side, leaving the man driving it with non-life-threatening injuries and his wife, who was riding in the passenger seat, with potentially life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital.

Eastbound 5400 South was closed for approximately 1.5 hours, but cleanup is now wrapping up. Utah Highway Patrol reportedly assisted in diverting traffic coming off Bangerter away from the crash…
