Residents recall tense moments during Hungate Fire

RANDALL COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Residents across Randall County are sharing their experiences after the Hungate Fire moved quickly through the area this week, forcing many to prepare for possible evacuations.

Allie McEwen, Operations Director of Rescue and Volunteers at Dove Creek, said their team immediately began preparing to move horses as the fire got closer to their property.

“Our first thoughts are always to stay calm… contact the people that we know and then plan for evacuation,” McEwen said.
