Butera Market stores transitioning to Shop & Save

Shop & Save Market, which operates five grocery stores in the Chicago area and will soon open a sixth in Palatine, has announced that it is taking over Butera Market, including its locations in Harwood Heights and Norridge.

Formally known as “Butera Finer Foods,” the family-owned chain was founded in 1963 and was well known for its low prices. While Butera no longer has a Northwest Side location, its Harwood Heights and Norridge stores have continued to attract lots of Chicago residents.

The first Butera to transition to a Shop & Save store will be its Algonquin location on Tuesday, May 26, according to the Shop & Save Facebook page…
