National Police Week has officially come to a close, leaving behind a profound sense of gratitude, remembrance, and unity across the law enforcement community.
This year’s observances carried special significance for the Massachusetts State Police, which recently laid to rest one of its own—Trooper Kevin Trainor—before sending its Honor Guard to Washington, D.C., to join officers from across the nation in paying solemn tribute at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
Trooper Kevin Trainor, 30, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on May 6, 2026, when his cruiser was struck by a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield while he responded to an emergency call. You can read about the story when it broke HERE.
