A round of showers moved through Iowa and a portion of southeast Minnesota this morning. As it continues to move away, clouds will decrease a bit this afternoon. Temperatures will remain comfortably warm with afternoon high temperatures in the mid-70s.
We have an ALERT DAY for severe thunderstorm potential this evening, and again Monday afternoon to evening.
An area of low pressure remains to our west, and unstable air remains in place throughout much of Iowa into southern to central Minnesota. Storms will begin to develop closer to the low and cold front in western Iowa and southwest Minnesota late this afternoon to evening.
