EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – After a dry spring, daily rain chances return this week. After a much drier-than-normal spring, we’ll see daily chances for showers and thunderstorms through the week ahead. Rainfall is running more than 7 inches below normal year-to-date, but multiple rounds of storms could help chip away at the deficit.
Severe weather possible Monday and Tuesday
A few storms could turn strong to severe today and again Tuesday, with damaging wind and hail the main concerns. As a sharp cold front pushes through Tuesday night, storms will become more widespread. While the tornado risk looks lower, a brief spin-up tornado can’t be ruled out Tuesday near the front.
Day-by-day forecast
Today: Partly sunny early, turning mostly cloudy, breezy. 60% chance of showers and storms. High 88. A few storms could be severe.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. Low 73. Severe weather possible.
Tuesday: Partly sunny with a 30% chance of afternoon storms. High 88. Severe storms possible…
