Oklahoma Sooners seem to be the favorites for a local in-state star, but they have tough competition from a school nearby

The Sooners are on a roll when it comes to their recruiting, and they could continue that with a potential big win.

Fans have been asking the Oklahoma Sooners to recruit more in-state talent for years. When Lincoln Riley was the coach, it felt like they had hardly ever even looked in-state. Now, they have two guys from the top 25 of the 2027 class from Oklahoma who are committed.

Not to mention, there are a few other guys out there in the state who are very talented and could end up choosing OU. One of those guys seems to be an incredibly versatile player, in Broken Arrow safety Bryson Brown. However, he can also play in the slot and at cornerback. He’s got great size at 6’0 to play defensive back in the SEC.

The Sooners seem to be leading the race for Brown, who’s supposed to commit somewhere on May 23rd. Rivals has them at a 23% chance to land the three-star defensive back. But, they also have the Arkansas Razorbacks at a 21% chanbce of landing Brown. If OU didn’t land him, it wouldn’t be a huge deal, as they are loaded in the secondary in their current class.

The Sooners would love Brown, but losing out on him wouldn’t hurt

There is hope, and some belief, that OU is going to land elite in-state CB Gabriel Osborne. He is currently projected by On3 to commit to OU over Oklahoma State. Additionally, OU already has two cornerbacks committed: four-star Mikhail McCreary and three-star Mikyal Davis…
