RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Sunny, hot, and dry weather will be the story for the next three days as we climb to near record territory.
- Monday’s record is 95 (set in 1962)
- Tuesday’s record is 97 (also set in 1962)
- Wednesday’s Record is 97 (set in 2022)
While it will be hot, we don’t expect excessively humid conditions. It’s unlikely that we get an “Excessive Heat Advisory.” An advisory is only issued if the heat index is forecasted to be 105° for three straight hours.
With moderate (not high) humidity for the next several days, we could set records but I don’t think we’ll get canceled outdoor events. Please make sure you can find shade and take breaks if you are working outside in the next few days.
The heat breaks with a storm chance along a cold front that we expect to arrive Wednesday evening or night…
