Lubbock Police officer crashes while responding to call

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock Police officer was involved in a crash Monday, May 18, 2026. While responding to a call for service with lights and sirens activated, according to authorities.

LPD said an officer was responding to the call at 1:34 p.m. when he was involved in a crash at 19th Street and Frankford Avenue. Police said one minor and one moderate injury were reported. The Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The public was asked to avoid the area.
