[1] Officials provide update on Seven Cabins Fire after winds drive growth in fire size – A fire is growing rapidly in Lincoln County, almost tripling in size since Saturday night, and it’s leaving hundreds of firefighters scrambling to put out the blaze. As of 2 p.m. on Sunday, incident command told KRQE News 13 that the fire has reached nearly 9,000 acres with 0% contained, growing over 6,000 acres in the last 24 hours. Officials said that it’s been difficult to get any containment on the fire because of the severe winds and rugged terrain.
[2] Plane crash victims identified – Four people have died, and a wildfire ignited after a medical transport aircraft crashed in the Capitan Mountain area in Lincoln County on Thursday morning. The victims were identified as pilots Keelan Clark and Ali Kawsara and flight nurses Sarah Clark and Jamie Novick. The crew was headed from Roswell to the Sierra Blanca Regional Airport for a medical transport when the plane crashed.
[3] Mostly dry and still gusty weather around New Mexico – A Pacific cold front will move in from the northwest Monday, bringing a nice cooldown to southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
