Man sentenced in Loveland assault case

LOVELAND, Colorado — A man has been sentenced in connection with a 2025 assault case involving a 55-year-old victim from Loveland.

Orlando Lemus Ortiz, 29, pleaded guilty in March to two counts of assault. Other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement, according to court records. Lemus Ortiz was sentenced Friday to 17 years in prison, prosecutors said.

The Loveland Police Department said in January 2025 that the victim was kidnapped, robbed and assaulted before being left in a neighborhood. The victim was able to find help and emergency services were contacted, police said…
