Splash pads open in city of Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Splash pads across the city of Troy are opening ahead of Memorial Day weekend as temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s. Five splash pads opened on Monday, and one is opening on Tuesday.

NEWS10 meteorologists are forecasting temperatures to reach 91 on Monday and a record 94 on Tuesday before dropping back to springlike temperatures for the weekend.

The city’s splash pads will be available from sunrise to sunset. They include:

  • Corliss Park at 1100 8th Ave.
  • Geneva Pompey Park at 7th Avenue and Ingalls Avenue
  • 112th Street Park at 112th Street and West Park Place
  • Frear Park on Lavin Court adjacent to Frear Park Ice Rink
  • Prospect Park at 65 Prospect Park Rd.
  • William Chamberlain Riverfront Park at 255 Front St.
    • Opening on Tuesday, May 19

With high temperatures expected, you’re also reminded to drink plenty of water, visit air conditioned spaces, wear sunscreen, and check on vulnerable neighbors, family and friends.
