Severe thunderstorms topple trees, flip small planes, leave 32K without power

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – About 32,000 utility customers in Michigan are without power on Tuesday, May 19, after Monday’s severe thunderstorms.

The thunderstorm knocked down trees, utility poles and power lines, and ripped roofs off buildings, the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids said.
