AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — In 2006, the Amarillo Area Foundation opened the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund, which supports disaster response and recovery across the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle by partnering with nonprofits, churches, and long-term recovery groups to meet community needs after disasters.
AAF said at this time, the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund is currently active for 2026 in response to area wildfires, as wildfire conditions persist.
