Former Air Force pilot describes witnessing ‘big black fireball’ during air show crash

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Two Navy EA-18G Growlers collided midair Sunday during the “Gunfighter Skies Air Show” at Mountain Home Air Force Base south of Boise, forcing four crew members to eject after both aircraft crashed near the base.

All four crew members deployed parachutes and survived. Officials said one person was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Video from the air show captured the collision during the demonstration flight.
