AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — An Akron man played Pick 5 numbers based on his birthday and won the top prize of more than $25,000.
He waited until his birthday to play the numbers, 3-2-5-5-8, which ended up being a straight, according to a news release from the Ohio Lottery.

The odds of all five numbers matching in the correct order are 1 in 100,000.
With a straight bet of 50 cents, the man won $25,000. An additional 60-way box bet netted him another $417. After taxes, he took home $18,617.95. The man said he plans to bank it.
