According to the Albany Business Review, Trader Joe’s is planning a remodel of its original Capital Region store in Colonie, including what the company describes as “new and improved parking.”
“New and Improved” Parking
The biggest change? Town of Colonie Supervisor Peter Crummey told the Business Review that the former Honey Baked Ham storefront next door will be demolished to expand and redesign the parking lot. Honey Baked Ham officially closed its Wolf Road location back in April.
Will TJ’s Remain Open?
Construction fencing has already appeared around the building and plaza, and according to the report, Trader Joe’s will remain open during the project.
The Wolf Road location first opened nearly 15 years ago and quickly became one of the busiest Trader Joe’s stores in the region. Overflow parking behind the plaza has become common, especially during weekends and peak shopping hours, when cars can be seen circling for minutes, waiting for a spot to open up…
