Augusta caregiver accused of billing Medicaid for hours not worked

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Richmond County grand jury has indicted an Augusta home care worker in an alleged Medicaid fraud case, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced.

Officials say this is part of a statewide initiative targeting billing schemes in home- and community-based waiver programs.

Carr said his Medicaid Fraud and Patient Protection Division has secured indictments against five people overall, with alleged losses topping $41,000 across Athens-Clarke, Gwinnett, Houston and Richmond counties…
