BOSTON – A legal permanent resident, residing in Saugus, Mass., has been arrested and charged for allegedly voting illegally since 2008.
According to a release from the Massachusetts Department of Justice, 40-year-old Sunny Manhertz was charged with one count of unlawful voting by aliens and one count of the procurement, casting, or tabulation of ballots that are known to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under state law. Manhertz made an initial appearance in federal court in Boston today.
According to the charging documents, Manhertz is a citizen of Canada and became a United States lawful permanent resident (“LPR”) on Feb. 25, 1987. On or about March 1, 2016, Manhertz submitted a Massachusetts Official Voter Registration Form under his own name.
