New Highmark Stadium Project Surpasses MWBE Participation Goals in Western New York

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The new Highmark Stadium project in Orchard Park is reaching a major milestone, not only in construction progress, but in creating opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses across Western New York.

According to the Governor’s Office, more than $490 million has been disbursed to participating Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises, commonly known as MWBEs. State officials say the total represents the largest participation by MWBE firms in any public-private project in Western New York history.

The stadium project, which will become the future home of the Buffalo Bills, has involved hundreds of contractors, suppliers, and workers throughout the region.
