Clovis chase puts Fresno schools on lockdown, police say

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Schools in Fresno were placed on lockdown after two men tried to escape Clovis Police in a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m., an officer reported that they attempted to stop a reckless driver near Bullard and Willow avenues, who then sped off. Officers say a Fresno Police drone and helicopter kept track of the vehicle overhead.

Child found alone in car in Merced County, mother arrested, deputies say

As the vehicle fled, police said a passenger got out of the car near Chestnut and Baarstow avenues, but was detained a short distance away. Officers say the driver pulled over, attempting to hide in the garage of a home near Cedar and Shields avenues, but was eventually arrested.

The lockdowns that were placed on surrounding schools, including McLane High School, have since been lifted…
