HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huntsville City Board of Education voted Tuesday to acquire approximately 82 acres in the Hampton Cove area as part of the district’s long-term capital plan.
The board approved a purchase and sale agreement for the property, located north of the Raceway at the intersection of Highway 431 and Old Big Cove Road, for $3.68 million. District leaders say the land is intended to support the future development of a new elementary or middle school in the area.
