TEXAS — From Hays County in Central Texas to more than 200 miles away in North Texas’ Hood County, elected officials have been considering moratoriums on data centers to address concerns raised by residents.
Measures to halt the construction of data centers, citing water and power concerns, have either been tabled or voted down. However, just south of Dallas in Hill County, a moratorium was passed last week. This makes it the first county in Texas to temporarily pause the growth of data centers.
