EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso has completed $3.7 million in renovations to Fire Station No. 22 in West El Paso.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Tuesday, May 19, at 6500 N. Mesa St.
According to the City of El Paso, the roughly $3.7 million renovations were funded through the voter-approved 2019 Public Safety Bond, which “strengthens the City’s emergency response capabilities by modernizing the station and improving operational efficiency for El Paso Fire Department crews.”
The improvements included the following:
- Interior and exterior renovations
- New flooring, lighting control panel and upgraded fire alarm system
- New kitchen, restrooms, showers and decontamination room
- HVAC, electrical and plumbing upgrades
- New additions for locker rooms, an exercise area, EMS supply space, new bay doors and landscaping
